Permanent powder brows is a very gentle technique, where skin is scratched very lightly to implant the colour. Because of it being so gentle, the skin trauma is minimal: there is no blood during the treatment, swelling and redness is minimal to none, and healing is very comfortable.
With correct aftercare, there will be NO thick scabs as many expect, but some light peeling that starts to occur around day 5, and slowly flaking off for the next 5-7 days. After the flakes are gone, it may look like the colour has almost disappeared, but in most cases it will come back and darken slightly in the next 2-4 weeks as deeper layers of skin carry on healing. On darker skin, there is a chance of hyper or hypo pigmentation, where skin looks darker or lighter in places where flaking has come off. This is absolutely normal and the skin colour will come back to normal within a few weeks. So the main healing takes around 10-14 days, and deeper healing takes up to a month. This is why we never schedule a touch up appointment earlier than 4 weeks after the initial procedure. All in all, the healing process is very comfortable and you can go around your usual business without the need to hide your lovely new brows whilst they're healing
