What Permanent Makeup Treatment Consists of?
Each permanent makeup treatment is a three-part process.
The consultation
Initial part of the process is a consultation. This can be done either as a part of your treatment, or as a separate appointment. If you prefer, the consultation can be done over the phone or email. We will discuss what your goals are and what look you want to achieve with your cosmetic tattoo. The consultation is free of charge.
Every client must have a patch test to rule out allergies to pigments and numbing agents used during the permanent makeup treatment. If you choose to have your consultation as a separate appointment, a patch test will be done at this time. If you decide to have the consultation the same day as the treatment or over the phone/email, then you will need to pop in to have your patch test done (this will take less than 5 minutes). Alternatively, the patch test can be posted to you to perform it at home yourself. All patch tests must be performed at least 48 hours before your permanent makeup procedure.
Please note that a negative allergy patch test does not guarantee that there will be no allergic reaction during or after treatment. Allergic reactions are however extremely rare.
The treatment
We will start by drawing the shape of your brows, lips or eyeliner with a pencil. We will work with you during this stage to ensure that you are 100% happy with the shape. We will not start applying your cosmetic tattoo unless you are completely happy with the way your new shape looks.
Once you are happy to proceed, we will start applying the pigments into your skin using a special permanent makeup tattoo machine and sterile single use needles.
Immediately after permanent eyebrows procedure:
Please expect the brows to look up to 30% darker than the desired colour. This will soften and fade within first week as the skin heals.
Immediately after lip blush procedure:
Your lips are very likely to be swollen straight after the treatment, This will usually disappear within few hours. They will also look up to 50% brighter than the healed results.
Immediately after permanent eyeliner procedure:
Your eyes are likely to feel sensitive and be puffy after an eyeliner treatment.
The Touch Up
To complete your permanent makeup treatment, a touch up appointment is needed 6-8 weeks after your initial appointment. A touch up is needed because as your skin heals some pigment may be lost in some areas, and these patches may need some more colour. Also, as everyone's skin is different and it is impossible to predict how much pigment the skin will retain, on the first appointment we always go lighter to make sure the healed results are not too dark/bright. If more colour is needed, this will be easy to add during the touch up appointment. It is also possible to make minor shape and colour shade adjustments during your touch up. In most cases, one touch up is sufficient to achieve the desired results. However, in come cases more touch ups will be needed.
